Aston Villa Football Club
Being chosen by such a high profile client to be the signage contractor for the new Doug Ellis stand gave Wildan Sign Services an exciting challenge. The project presented many challenges; the height above ground, the size of the lettering and the traffic management of vehicles around the ground whilst installation was taking place.
Main Fascia
The stand's main elevation required lettering that could been seen from the Aston Expressway which is over 1 mile away from the football ground. Therefore we had to manufacture the lettering 'ASTON VILLA FOOTBALL CLUB' to a height of 2.25 metres. The lettering was constructed from de-scaled stainless steel with 200 mm returns and then stove enamelled to the clubs corporate colours.
Installation
The smooth execution of the installation of the Aston Villa Football Club
signage required careful planning.
We had to find specialist access
equipment to allow our installation team to work safely at heights of 90 feet.
We also had to obtain permission from the local authorities to close one lane of
the road running beneath the sign installation.
End Elevation
This image shows an Aston Villa shield and the lettering 'Doug Ellis Stand' which again was constructed from de-scaled stainless steel and stove enamelled to the clubs colours.
